Xuan Qiu, MD/PhD, is a highly skilled, board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training and board certification in the Surgery of the Hand. With an extensive education and training background, Dr. Qiu is a trusted expert in her field.

Dr. Qiu completed her undergraduate education Cum Laude from Yale University. She obtained her combined MD and PhD degrees from the Medical Scientist Training Program at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She finished a five-year residency program in Orthopaedic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Then she completed her Hand Surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan. She is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for both Orthopaedic Surgery and Surgery of the Hand Subspecialty.

Dr. Qiu is committed to delivering exceptional patient care of the highest quality. What do I need to bring with me for a first time visit?
You should bring the following material
● Your current insurance card
● Unexpired, government issued photo ID
● The referral letter (if required by your insurance)
● Your medication list with allergy history (if applicable)
● Any imaging studies, emergency room/hospital/urgent care discharge paper related to your current musculoskeletal condition, if applicable.
What do I need to bring with me for a return visit?

Why do I need to have X-rays?
The doctor needs to see your X-rays for initial assessment of musculoskeletal conditions. If you had recent X-rays, please bring a CD with imaging and the radiology report, unless they are done at the following facilities (see below). In certain circumstances, the doctor may also need to order new X-rays.
We have direct access to imaging at the following facilities:

● New York-Presbyterian Queens
● Northwell Health
Why do I still need to have X-rays if I only had Ultrasound/CT/MRI?
The ultrasound/CT/MRI are advanced imaging that provide different information from X-rays. The doctor still needs to see your X-rays for initial assessment of musculoskeletal conditions. If you have had recent advanced imaging, please bring a CD with imaging and the radiology report, unless they are done at the facilities that we have direct access (see above).
How do I refill my medication?
You should contact our office at (631) 235-0000 to discuss, as certain medication refills may require an office visit for assessment.
